Have you ever tried Chula’s Tacos? They are located at 4888 Sun Valley Blvd, in front of the pawn shop, along with other food trucks, such as Hot Dogs Sinaloa.
Nancy Roman, the owner, is a hard-working woman trying to balance everything and is working towards bigger and better things for this business and more. She keeps the family tradition going, which continues the legacy of selling tacos through generations in Sun Valley and Mexico.
She first wanted to open her business because her grandpa sells tacos in Mexico, and her uncle and mom sell tacos in Reno. Following the family recipe, she now makes the best tacos in Sun Valley. They were closed due during the winter due to inclement weather, and because she is working on becoming a retail director by attending college. It’s not easy to run a business and pursue higher education at the same time. However, it just takes a little time for everything to fall into place.
She wants to expand her business one day, although this would be expensive and risky. It’s not as easy to keep going when things are going up and down. It comes with the business and it’s something you work though.
Roman stated, “I would like to pass it down to family; maybe kids if I have some. People see how hard we work trying to keep the business running.” This is important because this job is not for everybody—but if she can do it, then you can, too! Chula’s Tacos keeps the family traditions going and shows how to run a successful, local business. Therefore, you should try Chula’s Tacos—they’re back!
Editor’s note: Roman stated that Chula’s Tacos is open for business each Friday night, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., and just re-opened for the season on May 1st.
