After WWII ended, soldiers returned home and many moved west to Reno and Sparks, where land was inexpensive. Prosser Valley then became Sun Valley in 1947.
In 1870, John C. Prosser filed a claim for 40 acres of land intended for agricultural and grazing use. This parcel included a natural spring for irrigation.
