Key Issues
- Community Safety & Fire Protection – Ensuring first responders have training, resources, and support needed to protect our community, especially those with behavioral health concerns.
- Housing – Tackling the rising cost of living requires public-private partnerships at a regional level, including everything from emergency shelters and transitional housing to stable homeownership.
- Quality of Life – Commissioner Garcia also serves the community by organizing and participating in many parks and open spaces trash clean-ups, back-to-school supplies giveaways for kids, abandoned property clean-ups, free tire and electronics disposal events, and many others. Her commitment to improving Sun Valley, Reno, and Sparks neighborhoods uses a collaborative approach with local nonprofits to deliver community-driven, sustainable community revitalization.
