What is a CAB?
Citizen Advisory Boards (CABs) are organized meetings held on a regular basis for the purpose of bringing community members together to discuss topics of interest within their neighborhood, express ideas and concerns to Washoe County staff, and hear from subject matter experts.
Does Sun Valley, NV have a CAB?
Yes. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at Hobey’s Casino (5195 Sun Valley Blvd) in the upstairs banquet room, to stay informed and to plan for Sun Valley’s future. The March 2026 CAB meeting has lots in store for those who like to be involved in their community.
March 2026 Agenda Highlights:
- PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATES – General community updates from public safety representatives; including but not limited to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and others.
- COUNTY MANAGER KATE THOMAS MEET & GREET – Washoe County’s newly appointed County Manager, Kate Thomas, will be in attendance to share information about herself and her new role. Ask questions and get to know the new County Manager.
- FIRE ADAPTED NEVADA (FAN) and the COMMUNITY WILDFIRE PROTECTION PLAN – Nevada Division of Forestry and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District will provide an overview of Fire Adapted Nevada, current Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) updates for the Washoe Tribe and Washoe County, as well as provide information on the Community Assessment Tool (CAT) updates and the new resource portal/living CWPP page.
