Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner visited Sun Valley, NV on February 25th to take a tour of Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue (TMFR Station 45, at the corner of Quartz Ln and Sun Valley Blvd) and chat with our firefighters to learn more about their response system and efforts in protecting our community.
Renner is known by most as “Hawkeye” in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), “William Brandt” in Mission Impossible—Ghost Protocol and Mission Impossible—Rogue Nation, “Ian Donnelly” in Arrival, “Aaron Cross” in The Bourne Legacy, “Mike McLusky” in Mayor of Kingstown, and from his Disney+ series RennerVations.
Renner, a Northern Nevada local, made headlines on New Year’s Day in 2023 due to an unfortunate accident with a snowplow (a PistenBully snowcat) at his home off of Mt. Rose Highway, resulting in 38 broken bones. He was on life support for 3-4 days in Reno at Renown Regional Medical Center, and underwent a year of rehabilitation before returning to acting.
Renner is the founder of the RennerVation Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving children in foster care and at-risk youth the chance to embrace a childhood filled with joy, growth, and belong, by providing them a safe haven and targeted programs to develop skills, confidence, and opportunities.
According to a TMFR statement on Instagram, “We appreciate him taking the time to connect with our firefighters and learn more about the mission. Always a great day when we can showcase the dedication and professionalism of TMFR.” 🔥🚒
