Songwriting is something I’ve always wanted to try, and even though I know how to read music and play instruments, musical theory can be challenging and tedious, and starting with a blank sheet of paper and pulling notes or lyrics out of the air has always been daunting.
Enter Suno.
Suno is an AI tool that let’s you skip the hard parts and does most of the heavy lifting for you, so it enables regular (i.e., not super-gifted) people—like me—to get their feet wet and produce a song fairly quickly. It’s not perfect, however, and takes some trial and error, but it’s a fun tool to try. (This particular song took 27 versions, for instance.)
