Sun Valley resident Melissa Gamwell has started a wonderfully collaborative and timely post in the Sun Valley, NV Facebook group. She asks a simple question: “What is one thing you NEED but cannot afford right now?”
As of today, the post has over 100 comments, with the Sun Valley, Nevada community offering things that they have to neighbors who need them. This is an amazing thing to witness, with so many Sun Valley residents helping each other during a time of need.
Some of the things currently available, or being requested, include:
- Halloween costumes
- Baby clothes/food
- Spices/herbs for cooking
- Chainsaw
- Vacuum cleaner
- Women’s winter clothing
- Tires
- Space heater/electric blankets
- Mattress
- Microwave ovens
- Cat food
- Indoor, white semi-gloss paint
- Distilled water
- Fish tank supplies
- etc.
If you have some unwanted things laying around collecting dust that others might really want, please consider joining the community in donating your surplus items. And who knows, perhaps you can swap for something you need!

How to Help
