This month, Sun Valley, NV will be having three of our own large food truck events locally, right here in the old Scolari’s parking lot!
The 2026 Food Truck Series is a partnership between Washoe County Commissioner Mariluz Garcia, SVGID, Washoe County, and Reno Food Trucks WTF, the producer of the Reno Street Food events like Food Truck Friday at Idlewild Park, North Valleys Regional Park, and more.
2026 Sun Valley Event Dates:
Thursday, June 11 from 4–8 p.m.Thursday, June 18 from 4–8 p.m. (Country Western theme)- Thursday, June 25 from 4–8 p.m. (featuring a streaming FIFA World Cup match!)

Location:
- Old Scolari’s Parking Lot on Sun Valley Blvd
Attractions:
- Multiple Food Trucks (with preference given to those based in Sun Valley)
- Music
- Dance competitions with different themes each night
- Informational booths
Prepare to have your taste buds tickled, and be sure to add a reminder on your calendar to visit these yummy events in June. You won’t be disappointed or leave hungry!
Funding Info:
The Washoe County BCC recently approved a District 3 discretionary funds disbursement of $50,000 for an economic study for Sun Valley, and $20,000 for the 2026 food truck events. These events will help spur economic development and community engagement in Sun Valley this summer.
Commissioner Mariluz Garcia prioritizes Sun Valley economic development, and was instrumental in pushing for this funding to benefit Sun Valley residents and Sun Valley business owners alike.
