What is a CAB?
Citizens Advisory Boards (CABs) are organized meetings held on a regular basis for the purpose of bringing community members together to discuss topics of interest within their neighborhood, express ideas and concerns to Washoe County staff, and hear from subject matter experts.
Does Sun Valley, NV have a CAB?
Yes. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at Hobey’s Casino (5195 Sun Valley Blvd) in the upstairs meeting room, to stay informed and to plan for Sun Valley’s future. The January 2026 CAB meeting has lots in store for those who like to be involved in their community.
January 2026 Agenda Highlights:
- RTC Government Affairs Liaison Paul Nelson will be present to provide an overview of the planned Sun Valley Corridor Improvements, including projects anticipated for the next construction season and work impacting the Highland Ranch area.
- Community updates from public safety representatives; including but not limited to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and others.
- A discussion reflecting on topics and presentations from the past two years and inviting attendees to share ideas for potential 2026 subjects or speakers.

We have made a request from ASK JOE to let us know the outcome of an arrest of man from Minden caught dumping tires in our community. We believe this might be answered this Monday 1/12/26 or perhaps next week on Monday. Please let the Sun Valley community know so they can watch for the answer. Thanks!!!
