The public is invited to stop by and try out Washoe County’s new voting machines (ballot marking devices), which will be used for the first time in the primary election on June 9, 2026.
According to a new press release, “Community members can see and test the new equipment during a hands-on showcase from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24 at the Registrar of Voters’ new warehouse, located at 6550 Longley Lane, Ste. 145, Reno. Attendees will also have the chance to tour the facility, which currently supports storage and logistics for election equipment and will become the permanent office, headquarters, and central ballot-processing facility for the Registrar of Voters for the 2028 election cycle.”
For this year’s primary election, Sun Valley’s in-person polling location is at the Sun Valley Neighborhood Center at 115 W 6th Ave., although you can vote in-person or drop off your ballot at any valid polling place in Washoe County, in addition to mail-in ballots, as per usual.
