Many changes are happening currently in Sun Valley, with construction started on several new housing developments (Highland Village, Caleb Court, etc.), the imminent closing of Scolari’s, the recent removal of the Wells Fargo ATM, Sun Valley Shopping Center’s new sign, the revamping of the Biggest Little Bike Park, etc. The following are a handful of additional changes noticeable while driving on Sun Valley Blvd.
Sun Valley Stor-It gets new paint job
Sun Valley Stor-It was recently repainted. The new paint is a light blue, as opposed to the old white paint that was previously there. It was slated to be repainted crimson red, but was switched to a calming color instead.
Desert Valley Dental replaces old sign
Desert Valley Dental replaced their old exterior sign with a new sign. The new one is blue and white, and matches their website colors, while the old sign was orange and brown.
Greater Light Christian Center moves in
The building across the street from Hobey’s parking garage has a new tenant now: Greater Light Christian Center.
Dotty’s building is nearly complete
The subject of much speculation over the past few months, the old Silver Moon Saloon is now a Dotty’s slot machine parlor. Work is now underway on the building’s interior. Fun fact: One of the interior walls is the original from the Silver Moon Saloon, saved and repurposed.
Kelly’s Sun Valley Bar receives fresh coat of paint
It’s hard to miss Kelly’s now with the bright yellow paint job, a bright and cheerful upgrade from the old white color.
Pavement being redone where Wells Fargo ATM used to be
All remnants of the old ATM have been removed and new pavement will presumably be laid.
Bi-Rite Market paves additional parking area
I’m not entirely convinced this is actually for parking, or for a future food truck (perhaps), but people are currently using it for parking.
Sun Valley Appliance Center gets new sign
The new sign is big and bold, and looks very nice. They deliver!
Hobey’s Coffee Shop being renovated
The coffee shop at Hobey’s Casino in Sun Valley, NV is currently undergoing remodeling. But never fear, you can still have their yummy food temporarily in the old Sun Valley Steakhouse at Hobey’s! If you enjoy a blast from the past, consider dining at Hobey’s steakhouse before the new-and-improved coffee shop reopens! 🥩
