Antojitos Lupita is a great place to visit with friends and family to try iconic Mexican snacks. They are located at 5466 Sun Valley Blvd, and are open from 1:30-7:00 p.m. They sell tasty snacks and ice cream, like fresas con crema, tostilocos, raspados, fresas locas, and much more!
Antojitos Lupita hasn’t always had a storefront; they first started as a food truck in 2014. At that time, their business was doing well, and they would park in front of the plaza to get more customers. However, when Covid hit, they had to close their food truck. After the pandemic, they reopened their food truck to regrow their business.
They invested a lot of money to open a location, which helped the Sun Valley community gain a new place to go with friends and family. They eventually wanted to expand into a permanent location for the Sun Valley community to enjoy.
Giovani, the owner, named the business after his daughter. He had a passion for selling ice cream and making them from scratch.
The manager, Wendy, mentioned, “The business does really good in the summer, but around fall, the sales slow down a bit.” Despite some slower seasons, “what motivates me to keep working is that this is a family-owned business.” She’s always there to support, even when the sales start to get a little slower.
When asked about the Sun Valley community, she shared, “A lot of people here are very nice. I’ve noticed a lot of people that come here are loyal customers and they come and get the same thing.” The neighborhood loves to support Antojitos Lupita by coming regularly and enjoying all their new and existing flavors.
Giovani wanted to start his business in Sun Valley because he wanted to give back, and for them to have a new spot to enjoy because Sun Valley has limited options. Wendy commented, “There aren’t a lot of food choices in Sun Valley, and the owner saw that this place was for sale, he took it as an opportunity. I’ve seen that other antojitos places are a little expensive and here we have good prices for everyone to afford good snacks.”
