Come join us at Hobey’s Casino in the upstairs banquet room at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026 for our next Sun Valley Citizen Advisory Board (CAB) meeting.

What is a CAB?

Citizen Advisory Boards (CABs) are organized meetings held on a regular basis for the purpose of bringing community members together to discuss topics of interest within their neighborhood, express ideas and concerns to Washoe County staff, and hear from subject matter experts.

Does Sun Valley, NV have a CAB?

Yes. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at Hobey’s Casino (5195 Sun Valley Blvd) in the upstairs banquet room, to stay informed and to plan for Sun Valley’s future. The CAB meetings have lots of information in store for those who like to be involved in their community.

July 2026 Agenda Highlights:

  • PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATES – General community updates from public safety representatives; including but not limited to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and others.

  • NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE (NDOW) – Presentation and discussion with Tru Hubbard, Urban Wildlife Education Coordinator with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, regarding urban wildlife education, including general information about wildlife in the Sun Valley area, ways residents can help reduce wildlife conflicts, and available resources for community members.

  • ELECTION OF CAB OFFICERS – CAB members will elect the Chair and Vice Chair of the Sun Valley Citizen Advisory Board for the upcoming 2026-2027 year.
