Additional Activities

  • The 3rd Thursday of the month (with the next one being July 16th): Transportation is provided to and from Winco at Northtowne. The van leaves the community Center at 10am and returns approximately 11am-ish.
  • The 2nd Tuesday of the month, the van takes Seniors to McKinley Arts to enjoy music and free lunch from an open door cafe. This is a dementia-friendly event and the van leaves the Community Center at 10:30am and returns 12:30-1pm-ish.
  • The 1st Thursday of the month there is a fresh produce truck at the Community Center and the 3rd Thursday is the Food Bank in the parking lot with a drive thru available. You do need a Food Bank Card and you can apply for the card at that time.
  • Tuesday and Thursday, Seniors can also enjoy a free hour at the swimming pool from 11-12pm. Washoe County also offers lunch at the Community Center, but you must sign up at the Center and after that you can call in if you would like lunch.
  • If you are in need of a fan to cool your room, please let them know at the Community Center.
