What is a CAB?
Citizen Advisory Boards (CABs) are organized meetings held on a regular basis for the purpose of bringing community members together to discuss topics of interest within their neighborhood, express ideas and concerns to Washoe County staff, and hear from subject matter experts.
Does Sun Valley, NV have a CAB?
Yes. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at Hobey’s Casino (5195 Sun Valley Blvd) in the upstairs banquet room, to stay informed and to plan for Sun Valley’s future. The March 2026 CAB meeting has lots in store for those who like to be involved in their community.
April 2026 Agenda Highlights:
- PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATES – General community updates from public safety representatives; including but not limited to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and others.
- NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM – Teresa Aquila, Community Liaison and Neighborhood Watch Coordinator, will provide an overview of the Neighborhood Watch Program, including how residents can get involved and resources available to support neighborhood safety and community engagement.
- SWIFT EXIT: EVACUATION STUDY – Kelly Echeverria, Emergency Management Administrator, will present an update on the Swift Exit: Evacuation Study, which evaluates evacuation planning and emergency response strategies across the region.
