Classrooms to Careers: The Role of CIS Educators
I have had the privilege of meeting Melissa Jacinto and Alex Gasatoto, who are the CIS site coordinators at Hug High School. They are heaven sent, indeed.

Hello, I’m 17 years old and a senior at Hug High School. I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada, and most of my hobbies have to do with staying home, unless it’s to be outside with nature. I love being involved in certain academics, such as history.
One of my goals for my last year at Hug High is to enjoy it and stay focused so I can graduate. Something I’m looking forward to in life is to work at a school, either as a teacher or a CIS worker. I’d love to help families, and I feel like I would be great working in a school, especially since I see all the joy in some of my own teachers and the Communities in Schools liaison—they seem to be doing what they love, and I know that I’d love it, too.
A few of my greatest values are my heart and mind. I hold everything in both, and I also value my family, friends, and teachers. I feel like I’ll hold on to these feelings and memories forever, since they’ve all helped me to learn and grow.
I believe something unique about me is my name—it has always been, and I think it’ll forever be, the most unique thing about me.
