Photo of the Week: Pink Cosmos

Pink Cosmos flower.

This beautiful flower was captured on September 10, 2025 in northern Sun Valley, Nevada.

It’s known as a Cosmos bipinnatus (Garden Cosmos or Mexican Aster), and is a medium-sized, flowering herbaceous plant in the daisy family.

This specimen is the loveliest shade of bright pink! This particular flower was planted from seed in rocky ground, and was only watered once, yet grew to maturity. A very hardy plant, to be sure.
