What is a CAB?
Citizen Advisory Boards (CABs) are organized meetings held on a regular basis for the purpose of bringing community members together to discuss topics of interest within their neighborhood, express ideas and concerns to Washoe County staff, and hear from subject matter experts.
Does Sun Valley, NV have a CAB?
Yes. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at Hobey’s Casino (5195 Sun Valley Blvd) in the upstairs meeting room, to stay informed and to plan for Sun Valley’s future. The February 2026 CAB meeting has lots in store for those who like to be involved in their community.
February 2026 Agenda Highlights:
- PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATES – General community updates from public safety representatives; including but not limited to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and others.
- BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU SCAM AWARENESS – BBB Vice President Timothy Johnston to provide an overview of current and emerging scam trends impacting residents, common red flags to watch for, and practical steps individuals can take to protect themselves. Attendees will also be informed of available BBB resources for reporting scams and seeking guidance.
