Teacher Appreciation Week runs from Monday, May 4th through Friday, May 8, 2026.

Arthur Pacheco coaches tennis, basketball, and golf. He also teaches geometry, calculus, and sports statistics. He is arguably the most well-known and well-respected staff member at our school.
After high school, Coach Pacheco didn’t know what his plans were for the future, as he thought he would have a profession as a musician or an athlete, but never thought that teaching was the route to go. He became a teacher because he not only enjoyed math, but he enjoyed the feeling that his students gave him when he helped them to succeed. Pacheco enjoys teaching math because it offers only one answer, unlike other subjects that involve discussion.
“I liked math. But more importantly, I like the feeling that people gave me when I helped them,” Pacheco stated.
Pacheco also advises the chess club and shows up to school events. In the chess club, he teaches beginners new skills and techniques, and challenges the advanced players in a game of chess.
Coach Pacheco teaches in a way that is easy to understand and knows how to build a positive relationship with his students, before setting expectations that students are more likely to follow. He has many influences on our school being both a teacher and a coach, having a positive impact on both students and athletes.
If he were to be nominated for a Staff Superlative, it would be for “Most Influential Math Teacher,” stated Mr. Treadway. Thank you Coach Pacheco for having such a positive impact on our school!
