Sun Valley Regional Park is home to the Lizard Peak Disc Golf Course, located at 5905 Sidehill Dr, Sun Valley, NV 89433.
While visiting this superb outdoor recreational area, I noticed quite a bit of activity on the 39-hole (total) courses, as many groups of people were actively playing a round. Unique to this course is the presence of native flora, such that any errant discs (sometimes called frisbees by some) may need to be retrieved from surrounding sagebrush or juniper trees. This differs from other courses I’ve played on where manicured grass and trimmed branches made it fairly generic, each hole feeling very much like the previous hole. This course is more challenging in that respect, as clear lines of sight are not guaranteed, and each hole feels unique as one walks the hillside course.
If you love outdoor activities and haven’t yet visited this park or tried this particular course, I would recommend that you do. Bring your friends and/or family, and you will spend some quality time outside making great memories. I love that Sun Valley hosts this wonderful activity, and I applaud Washoe County for maintaining this spacious facility.
