Join the community tonight, June 5, 2026, between the hours of 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Sun Valley Community Park for the 2026 Dive Into Summer event.
The event kicks off the recreation season in Sun Valley, Nevada with events in the park, such as:

- Corn Hole
- Free Food & Drink
- $1 Raffle Tickets
- Community Resources
- Local Program Vendors
“All of us at the Sun Valley General Improvement District are excited to be kicking off the summer season with our annual Dive Into Summer Event,” said Susan Severt, Chair of the SVGID. “This event allows us not only to have fun, but to provide residents in the area with information from over 30 community partners. We are especially grateful to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office for their partnership on the event once again. We hope to see everyone out here and throughout the summer season.”
Bring your family, friends, picnic blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a FREE hot dog, chips and soda. The event will include music, emergency responder equipment on display, information booths from our community resource partners, $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win great prizes, demonstration by our recreation partners, free face painting and a limited amount of free Sun Valley Pool tokens.
No alcohol, smoking or vaping is permitted and leashed service dogs only.
The event is co-hosted by SVGID (Sun Valley General Improvement District) and WCSO (Washoe County Sheriff’s Office).
“Strong communities are built through connection, trust, and being present in the neighborhoods we proudly serve,” said Sheriff Darin Balaam. “We are excited to once again partner with the Sun Valley General Improvement District to bring the community together as we kick off the summer season. Dive into Summer is a great opportunity for families to meet members of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, connect with local resources, and enjoy an evening focused on community, safety, and fun. We look forward to seeing everyone there.”
And get ready for the opening of the Robert & Norma Fink community swimming pool next week, on Thursday, June 11th.
