Hobey’s Casino and parking garage has been an iconic part of Sun Valley since 1984 and 2008, respectively. Hobey’s parking garage is open all day and night 365 days per year, and they have an open entrance for people to drive in and out at any time.
Hobey’s is newly owned by a group who also owns Tamarack Casino and a small hotel in Carson City. The previous owners were a married couple, Pete and Lindy Mandas. The Hobey’s casino is constantly busy with people in and out. They attract a lot of attention not only for their gambling, but also for their amazing café, serving enjoyable comfort foods.
Tom, who is the casino manager, has been working in this position for six years and is happy to say, “We don’t have anything big planned for the parking garage, but we do host an event for Hot August Nights, where people are able to bring their cars to show customers and citizens of Sun Valley.”
The casino has a covered parking garage and a large surface lot to accommodate guests. The garage is covered with the intention of keeping cars protected from the elements, as well as complementing the area.
