What is a CAB?
Citizen Advisory Boards (CABs) are organized meetings held on a regular basis for the purpose of bringing community members together to discuss topics of interest within their neighborhood, express ideas and concerns to Washoe County staff, and hear from subject matter experts.
Does Sun Valley, NV have a CAB?
Yes. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 6 p.m. at Hobey’s Casino (5195 Sun Valley Blvd) in the upstairs banquet room, to stay informed and to plan for Sun Valley’s future. The CAB meetings have lots of information in store for those who like to be involved in their community.
June 2026 Agenda Highlights:
- PUBLIC SAFETY UPDATES – General community updates from public safety representatives; including but not limited to Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, and others.
- KEEP TRUCKEE MEADOWS BEAUTIFUL (KTMB) – PROGRAM UPDATE – Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) Executive Director Darcy Phillips will provide an overview of KTMB’s programs, volunteer opportunities, and community impact throughout the region, including information specific to the Sun Valley area.
- WASHOE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE (WCSO) – CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN: AWARENESS AND PREVENTION – A Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) representative will provide information on crimes against children, including in-person and online risks. The presentation will focus on warning signs, prevention, community awareness, available resources, and steps residents can take to help keep children safe. Questions may be addressed at a general level; specific cases will not be discussed.
