This beautiful flower is a Cosmos bipinnatus (Garden Cosmos or Mexican Aster), and is a medium-sized, flowering herbaceous plant in the daisy family.
A little worse for wear, this empty-headed fellow has obviously seen some trouble in his day, but still appears to be happy.
This gentleman frequently walks around the neighborhood, but he doesn’t seem to need the walker.
As the sun rises and starts to caress this wonderful little plant, the flower heads open to welcome its lovely warmth and energy.
This interesting scene was captured in early July, while taking a walk up the sidewalk in the Highland Ranch community in Sun Valley, NV.
These interesting stone markers were captured on July 19, 2025 at 9:27 p.m. at the Biggest Little Bike Park at Sun Valley Regional Park in Sun Valley, Nevada.
The purple sage blooming in the foreground, the shadows dancing on the hills… The view from Lizard Peak Disc Golf Course is amazing!
Since the park is elevated in the hills, you can see over the valley, and the park is refreshingly shaded approaching sunset, while the rest of the valley still bakes in the sun.
