When you visit Valley Pawn in Sun Valley, Nevada—depending on which day(s) of the week you go—you might just have the great fortune of meeting Sosa.
Sosa is a 2-year-old, female Doberman Pinscher who loves hanging out and greeting customers at the pawn shop.

Seth Ludlow, who works at Valley Pawn (a family-owned business, operated by the Ludlow family), says he rescued Sosa 9 months ago, and instantly bonded with her. When they met, Sosa immediately jumped into Seth’s lap and snuggled up to him. The rescue shelter employee remarked that he had never seen a dog take to a new owner so quickly.

Ludlow explains, “Her name was Sosa at the Humane Society upon rescue. I was trying to think of a ‘better’ name, but the more I called her Sosa, and with my passion for baseball, I decided to keep the name and, in a way, dedicate it to the famous Major League Baseball player, Sammy Sosa.”
Sosa absolutely loves to chase reflections and laser pointers. Her best qualities are that she is extremely friendly, always ready to play, and sits ‘proper’ (with paws crossed) when not playing.

An active doggo, Sosa loves to go on walks, play tug of war, and eat 100% human-grade treats and food.
Congratulations to Sosa for being Sun Valley Insider’s Pet of the Week! 🐕
