Lizard Peak Disc Golf Course (Review)

Lizard Peak Disc Golf Course

Last updated on April 3rd, 2025

Sun Valley Regional Park is home to the Lizard Peak Disc Golf Course, located at 5905 Sidehill Dr, Sun Valley, NV 89433.

While visiting this superb outdoor recreational area, I noticed quite a bit of activity on the course, as many groups of people were actively playing a round. Unique to this course is the presence of native flora, such that any errant discs (sometimes called frisbees by some) may need to be retrieved from surrounding sagebrush or juniper trees. This differs from other courses I’ve played on where manicured grass and trimmed branches made it fairly generic, each hole feeling very much like the previous hole. This course is more challenging in that respect, as clear lines of sight are not guaranteed, and each hole feels unique as one walks the hillside course.

If you love outdoor activities and haven’t yet visited this park or tried this particular course, I would recommend that you do. Bring your friends and/or family, and you will spend some quality time outside making great memories. I love that Sun Valley hosts this wonderful activity, and I applaud Washoe County for maintaining this spacious facility.

About the Author

Richard Barnet

A former resident of Carson City, Reno, and Sparks, Richard finally saw the error of his ways and moved his family to Sun Valley, Nevada to live the good life. He finds Sun Valley intriguing, and loves this magical place more than words can describe.

Richard, a Scorpio, currently enjoys playing Star Trek Fleet Command, watching 'The Wheel of Time' on Amazon Prime, and listening to crazy genres of music on Spotify—including classical. (Whoa.)

While most people either dislike Sci-Fi films entirely, or they vehemently prefer Star Wars to Star Trek (or vice versa), Richard loves both Star Trek and Star Wars—equally.

His favorite BBQ food is smoked & salted beef brisket, his favorite painter is Piet Mondrian, and his Hogwarts house is Ravenclaw. He loves using em dashes, and swears by the Oxford comma.
