Sunny Sun Valley Days with Savory Bites

Antojitos El Nachito is located on Sun Valley Blvd in the parking lot of Super Carniceria.

El Nachito is a great place to visit with family and friends! They feature refreshing spicy, sweet, and savory snacks with many classics such as raspados, tostilocos, and many more. They are located at 5360 Sun Valley Blvd, and are open Thursday through Monday.

Consistency and family are key, according to owner Nemesio Martinez. Antojitos El Nachito started in 2006, following in his father’s footsteps. Martinez stated, “My dad started by selling elotes.” Sacramento was the birthplace of it all, and he began with a “carito” and dreams selling anything from duritos to elotes. “Nuestro fuerte fue vender afuera de las iglesias,” shared Nemesio, essentially telling of his sales outside of community churches that helped rally up the business and really got things going. However, sadly the pandemic took a toll on them with churches being closed and locals quarantined.

After the pandemic, they got the word to head to Reno, where there was not much competition and where they would truly hit! They tested the waters and headed to Reno every weekend around the Oddie Blvd area. And then in 2022, they fully took the chance and moved to Reno, where they officially established the business with many ups and downs.

However, they have now formed two antojitos food trucks and are really loved by many in the Sun Valley/Reno community. Through perseverance and dedication, they really show us how local businesses can have so much more impact when they push through the negatives and make their business something powerful, where families and communities can enjoy.
